Privacy
Privacy: the short, honest version
We want your seedlings, not your secrets. Effective date: October 31, 2026.
What we collect
- Your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it, when you sign up for the Farm Pulse newsletter.
- Basic hosting logs. Like nearly every website, our host (Cloudflare) keeps standard technical logs when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. That's how sites stay up and keep the bad bots out.
Like most newsletter tools, Kit can also record whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, which tells us what's actually useful. We don't run ad trackers on this website, and there are no accounts or comment sections to fill in.
Why we collect it
To send you Farm Pulse, the newsletter you asked for, and to keep the website running safely. We don't use your email for anything else.
Signing up and leaving
We use double opt-in: after you sign up, you'll get an email asking you to confirm. Nothing else arrives until you click it. Changed your mind? Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click, any time, no hard feelings, no guilt-trip survey.
We don't sell your data
Not to anyone, not ever. We don't rent it, trade it or swap it for a nice tractor either.
Who helps us
Two companies handle data on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:
- Kit (based in the United States) sends the newsletter and stores the subscriber list.
- Cloudflare hosts and protects the website.
That means your information may be stored or processed in the United States or other countries where these providers operate.
How long we keep it
We keep your email (and first name, if given) until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Want it gone, or want to see what we have? Email us and we'll take care of it.
Canada and the US, the basics
- Canada: we follow PIPEDA, Canada's private-sector privacy law, so you can ask to see or correct your information, or withdraw consent. We only email people who've said yes, and every message tells you who sent it and how to unsubscribe, as Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires.
- United States: in line with CAN-SPAM, our emails are honest about who they're from and what they are, and every one has a working unsubscribe link. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly.
